One looks in vain for an art house cinema in Paderborn. For this reason, the association Programmkino Lichtblick e.V., established by students of media studies, made it its task in 2003 to give films that were excluded from commercial cinema a presence and recognition. With the use of historical film copies, the association also wants to raise awareness of the specific materiality of the film medium. To this day, the students of the initiative independently create film series on topics such as film noir, queerness or “dreams” every semester. The films are usually presented on Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. at Pollux by Cineplex Paderborn. Introductions by the members of the association before the films, as well as invitations from curators, directors and other filmmakers, invite promote dialogue.
Lichtblick e.V. also offers you the opportunity to help shape the offer of the cultural ticket. The student initiative is always looking forward to new members.
